Industry Night
One of the questions we often get asked is, "What's good between Sunday and Thursday in Las Vegas”? Usually, the rooms are less and the flights are more reasonable, so we get a lot of customers who like to come out during the week. I was in the club Industry in Chicago for almost thirteen years and a lot of my Industry friends come out during the week. If you're interested in a weekday party, then you’ve come to the right place because Sunday through Thursday are the Industry Nights in Las Vegas.
In my early days in Vegas, going out during the week was a requirement for my position. As a Promotions Manager for Hakkasan and Wet Republic, part of my duties was to take my promotions team out on Wednesday nights. Las Vegas is not like a typical city where you only have a few good nights a week to go out. Seven nights a week are busy, and usually there are multiple places to party even on weeknights.
In my Ultimate Guide to Las Vegas Industry Nights, I go over every night in detail and what you can look forward to when you visit.
Industry Night In Las Vegas
If you're going out on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, you're heading out on Industry Night. I'm not sure who coined the word, but when we refer to “Industry”, we're talking about people who work in the Day and Nightclub Industry. In most cities, " the industry people" work all weekend and typically can only go out on a weeknight, hence the phrase, “Industry Night”.
Vegas is a little different than most cities - you have a busy place to go seven nights a week. Most of the biggest Industry personnel work more days than just your typical Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays like most cities but for the sake of this Guide, we will assume fast Fridays and Saturdays are the most significant nights when all the clubs are open. The people who work Fridays and Saturdays will then go out on another night of the week for their Industry Night to party.
What Is The Point of Industry Night?
There are a couple of reasons Industry nights exist. On the club side of things, typically, these nights are not in high demand and they get the support of other nightclubs to help fill the room. If you work at Light Nightclub, for example, and they're open on Wednesdays, you may be required to go on an "outing" on a Thursday night to support Tao Nightclub. At Tao Nightclub, they have a great looking crowd from all the staff at Light to help fill a premium table, and for the group from Light, they get a premium table, free bottles and a fun night out.
Usually, all that's required by the group from Light is a decent tip to the server. It sounds like a pretty sweet deal, and it is, especially if you're new in the Industry and you still enjoy going out. The whole point of supporting other clubs is to mingle with the other club staff, and potentially establish relationships that in turn might result in some business exchange.
When you are new to the Industry, this is a valuable opportunity to get out and meet other people who are in the same business as you. One unwritten Industry rule is when you trade your Bottle Service customers to other clubs, you send them to other Internal Hosts and not to Independent Hosts. One of the primary purposes of the "outing" or Industry Night out is to mingle with other Industry people.
The Benefits of Industry Nights
How will Industry Night benefit you? First, having a strong Industry Night Sunday through Thursday makes for a great party. We already mentioned the Industry crowd is the best-looking crowd in Las Vegas, and they're looking to party on their night off. So, if you happen to be in town on one of these nights, you get a packed club with a good-looking crowd that you won't find in most other cities in the country.
Some other benefits include lower priced tables and occasionally some bottle service packages. . But if you're not looking for Bottle Service, then consider the Guest List; most of the time during the weekdays it's free for guys and ladies. To sum it up, the benefits are a great party, potentially free admission, and great Bottle Service deals for excellent tables.
Where are the Good Industry Parties?
Sundays Industry Line Up
XS Night Swim
Located in The Encore
Hours 10:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.
The Sunday Night Swim Party is arguably the best in the City any night of the week. This event is seasonal from May until September. You’ll find a lot of the Industry people come to hang out since they're off on Sundays. For us, it's our favorite night of the week to go out. Not only are there typically big DJs, but you also have an insane party that goes on in and around the pool.
If you're coming in on the weekend and plan on leaving Sunday, you might want to change your plans and roll out on Monday afternoon after this banger. We have some bottle specials on this night. Refer to our Ultimate XS Guide for more details. Keep in mind, XS is sometimes open other Sundays around the holiday or a fight weekend. Check our lineup for details.
Drai's Hip-Hop Sunday Party - Sundrai's
Located in The Cromwell
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
If you're into Hip Hop, then this Sunday party is a must. Voted the Best Industry Party in 2018 by the Las Vegas Weekly Readers, it never lets us down.
We have some great packages and can usually get a pretty good table for a reasonable price so we book a lot of tables at this event. The resident DJ is DJ Franzen and he knows how to work the crowd. This is an excellent alternative to the outdoor pool party in the summer at XS if you're looking to go out in your club gear rather than pool gear. Either way, it's a great vibe and a packed house every Sunday.
Hakkasan Sundays
Located in The MGM Grand
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
I was part of the opening team at Hakkasan Nightclub as their Promotions Manager, and we fired up Sundays from the first weekend it opened. Now it’s pushing over seven years, but this party is still going strong. Originally it was more of an EDM party, but that's faded a bit. The programming is more a combination of open format music and Hip Hop.
The Hakkasan Group has a massive staff of hosts, promoters, servers, and internal ops workers so on their Industry Night, they require everybody to come out and support. On one table you might find the beautiful cocktail servers from Wet Republic, and on another table the gorgeous ladies of Liquid. Nobody's complaining what kind of music it is when print quality models are filling the room.
Mondays Industry Parties
Marquee
Located in The Cosmopolitan
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
One of my favorite phrases is “tried-and-true”, and that applies to the Monday Night Industry Party at Marquee. Not only is it the longest-running Industry Party in Las Vegas, but it's also one of the best. In 2017, it was Voted Best Industry Night 2017 by Las Vegas Weekly Readers
They used to battle it out with XS for the best Monday night party spot but eventually Marquee won the battle. Part of the reason it's still standing is the fantastic host and server staff who make you feel welcome every Industry Monday. They also do some pretty cool themed events to keep the vibe alive, and once in a while, they will toss in some big DJs such as Dash Berlin. The room is the right size for an off night as well even if it's not super packed it seems busy with a full dance floor. If you're in town, make sure you check out Marquee Monday; it's known as a legendary Industry Party for a reason.
Jewel - Flawless Mondays
Located in The Aria
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
The Monday battle used to be between Marquee and XS, then a little friend named Jewel came along and disrupted the night. Now you have the Hakkasan Group with a huge staff to help fill the room and a DJ roster that is second to none. On any given Monday, you will get a great-looking crowd of Industry people and likely, a well-known DJ.
Some of the more prominent names include Zedd, Lil Jon, and Steve Aoki; with this talent this party can be insane. Even on nights when there are mid-level DJs, this venue knows how to pack the dance floor. It is an ultra-modern state-of-the-art, mid-size club that boasts a fantastic sound system. Keep an eye out for Table #12, the Industry table. If you want to check out the other Monday hotspot in Vegas, then Jewel is the place. Hit us up for the minimums and packages.
Tuesdays Industry Line Up
Omnia
Located in The Aria
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
At one time, our beloved club, Hyde at the Bellagio, was a Tuesday contender for the Tuesday Industry crown. However, Hyde's time has come and gone, they closed in 2019. Omnia is the only club left standing as the top mega club in Las Vegas on Tuesday nights. That’s not a bad thing, but sometimes it’s nice to have choices. The big issue is that since they are the only game in town, they tend to keep prices at a premium.
Rarely, if ever, do they offer packages deals, but sometimes you can get a pretty good table for a reasonable minimum. They do flex the Hakkasan Group muscle and bring in some solid artists, and of course, that quality Hakkasan Group staff support. They usually have the Hip Hop room open, so it's like two clubs in one – Hip Hop in the Heart of Omnia, and typically the Main Room is EDM. So, it's not all bad that Omnia is the only Club open on Tuesdays. One thing's for sure, this party will not disappoint! Let us know if you'd like to book a table or get on the Guest List.
Wednesdays Industry Parties
Light
Located in Mandalay Bay
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Light used to be the spot for my outings when I first moved to Vegas. The Club was awesome. They used to have Cirque du Soleil as partners and they offered incredible shows with aerial displays throughout the night. The unparalleled entertainment from the Cirque Shows are long gone. This club has changed management groups a couple of times, and as a result, the vibrant Industry dynamic as fallen in rough waters. That's not to say Light is not a good party; they still manage to bring in a fantastic crowd and a number of other Clubs support them on their Industry Night. These days, Light is primarily Hip Hop. We have some great packages, and there's not a bad table in the entire night Club. Let us know if you want to check out Light on a Wednesday.
On The Record
Located at Park MGM
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
The newest Industry Party on our roster is Wednesdays at On the Record. With unique decor and a great layout, it's perfect for an Industry crowd. It was also Voted Best Industry Night 2019 by Las Vegas Weekly Readers. If you're in Vegas on a Wednesday and want to check out the reigning Industry Night Champion Party, hit us up for a great package deal.
EBC at Night
Located in The Encore
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
During the summer months, Encore Beach at Night is a wild and crazy Night Swim Party. They flex some Wynn Nightlife muscle and bring in large DJ's like Diplo and Fisher. In the winter months, they have a platform over the pool and a heated tent that connects the indoor part of the Club with the outdoor Casino Pavilion. No matter what Wednesday you attend, you will find a nice Industry Party with a great-looking crowd. We also have some excellent package deals. Please let us know if you'd like to check out Encore Beach at Night.
Chateau
Located in The Paris
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Chateau is an open-air club, so expect it to be hot and steamy in the warmer months. They offer incredible package deals for Bottle Service. You will find less Industry people at Chateau than other Industry parties as this event caters more to tourists. If you want a great deal at a solid Wednesday party, let us know and we will be happy to set you up.
Thursdays Industry Nights
Tao
Located in The Venetian
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Arguably the best Thursday party in the city, Tao Worship Thursday’s Industry Party continues to impress. Although the Club is nearing the 15-year mark, they still do a fantastic job of getting attractive females into the party. They usually have a Guest List with no cover, free drinks for ladies, and some good deals for our Bottle Service customers. I cannot think of one bad Thursday party at Tao. It's a great mix of tourists, locals and Industry people. We will be happy to set you up, just let us know.
Drai's and Summer’s Night Swim
Located in The Cromwell
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Drai's has a good party for Hip Hop on Thursdays, and some fantastic package deals for good tables. Starting in 2019, they moved their Tuesday Night Swim to Thursdays. In the non-summer months, you can expect a regular Thursday party, usually with DJ Esco. For the summer months check our schedule for the Night Swim lineup and let us know if you'd like to set up a package.
Hakkasan
Located in The MGM Grand
Hours 10:30 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Since Hakkasan's opening night on a Thursday with Deadmea5 in 2013, they've had a solid Industry Thursday party going on. It has stood the test of time, and it's probably the busiest Thursday in the City. Hakkasan Group has a massive array of DJs to choose from and they usually bring in some big names. On some nights we are able to offer package deals, on other nights you will have to pay a minimum spend, but either way, you can count on a good party. Hakkasan has more tourists on this night than they do Industry people, but you will find some Industry mixed in. Let us know if you'd like to book Hakkasan on a Thursday.
Chateau-Summers
In the summer months, when it's nice outside, Chateau pulls off a Thursday night. Out of the four choices, this would be our last choice. However, they do have some incredible Bottle Service packages, so if you're on a budget and want a table, this might be a great call. They usually have the local Club Crawl roll at some point and that helps fill the dance floor. If you are interested in Chateau on a Thursday, check with us to see if it's going to be open.
Honorable Mention Rooftops
Apex, Voodoo, and Foundation Room are some of the more gorgeous rooftop clubs in Las Vegas, open seven nights a week. Although these aren't typically considered Industry parties, they can be a beautiful place to grab a drink and catch a great view. We recommend getting on the free Guest List before you head over to one of the Industry parties and be sure to break out the Snap and the Gram.
Honorable Mention Gentleman's Clubs
This one comes up a lot, at least with a lot of our friends. They're always asking what to do when the party ends? On Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday there aren't many options except for the gentlemen's clubs. Open 24 hours, on any night, these options are a good call. For around 40 bucks we will send a ride; you'll get entry into the strip club and your first two drinks are on the house.
Our top five in this order are: Crazy Horse III, Rhino, Sapphires, Hustler, and Treasures.
You might want to bring cash and consider leaving your credit card at home; we've heard some horror stories after some crazy Industry Nights that turned into 4 figure credit card charges.
If this is a game-time decision, feel free to shoot us a text at 702-550-2566.
Honorable Mentions Drai’s After Hours Thursday and Sunday
Are Industry Nights just for Industry People?
The answer is no. Vegas has conventions 52 weeks a year, a lot of those happen to fall during the week. The overwhelming majority of people out on Industry nights, ironically, are tourists and convention-goers. You do get a decent amount of locals and other club Industry people that help fill the room, but Vegas is still a tourist town even on weeknights.
Occasional Big DJ
The Crowd
We've already mentioned the Industry crowd is a good-looking crowd. On one table you might find the cocktail servers from Encore Beach , and a few tables over the gorgeous staff of Daylight Beach Club. You also get a handful of locals, which could include some beautiful strippers, go-go dancers, and your club-goers who live in Vegas. Some people would argue that the crowd during the week is better than what you will see on the weekend and most of the time we would agree.
The Final Word
There was a time when the Industry parties were really good; this was back when a lot of newcomers came into town to work at the big mega clubs. Around 2013, when Hakkasan Nightclub opened, Light Nightclub, Daylight Beach, Drai's Nightclub, Drai's Beach, and the short-lived Foxtail Pool and Life Nightclub employed hundreds of hosts, bussers, promoters, servers, and internal staff.
Most of the Industry had migrated to Vegas and were new to town and new to the Club Industry. The FOMO of a new City made them want to go out on their nights off. And although most of these Clubs are still standing, the workforce is aging, they are not quite as fun to party with anymore. Even back five years ago, the Industry tables were lackluster at best.
Per your job description, these Industry "outings" would require you to be out from 11 p.m. until around 1:00 a.m. Instead of partying, you would see guys and ladies sitting around checking their phones and watches waiting until 1:00 a.m. so they could escape out of there. Honestly, I don't blame them.
I remember what it was like having to stay out till 1:00 a.m. and then get up early for work the next day. More often than not, they were only there because they had to be. That's not to say that a new generation of people don't come onto the scene every year. Vegas is a very transient City; on any given Industry night, you will find the new Industry generation holding down the fort.
