The Complete Guide
High atop the 63rd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel sets the Foundation Room, a unique venue that combines an indulgent, fine dining restaurant; a VIP lounge from Happy Hour to Bottle Service; and a sophisticated nightclub all under one roof. Adding to the unique décor is an atmosphere of Asian / Indian fusion, live music and premier DJs, and jaw-dropping views of the City. The Foundation Room is a perfect way to soak in the world-famous Las Vegas nightclub scene.
I still remember the first time I walked into Foundation Room; it was on a Thursday night in the mid-2000s. Back then, there were not a whole lot of choices when it came to nightlife hotspots and the Foundation Room owned Thursday nights. The crazy thing is the place has hardly changed since then but that makes sense, “why fix it if it ain’t broke?” Even in 2020, this Club continues to impress.
The Club is owned and operated by the group that manages the House of Blues, so they often host after parties for concerts. It's not unlikely to run into a well-known artist or a celebrity at this venue.
About Brian Pfeiffer and Surreal Night Life
Independent hosting is a sexy, but very serious business, especially in Las Vegas. You can't just be any person off the street and hope to work with these nightclubs; you need a gaming license, you have to pass an FBI background check, go through a lot of bureaucracy and own a legit company (State LLC) to do business with them. You also have to have the pull, the right contacts, and relationships built on trust in order to work a deal.
I started in this business as a front door host in 2000, and 20 years later, I worked my way up to become a major player in the nightlife industry. While I still have ownership in a club in Chicago and own a large Chicago-based Halloween and New Year's Event Company, my home has been in Las Vegas since February 2013 when The Hakkasan Group moved me to the City to be their promotions manager for both Wet Republic and Hakkasan. Nearly one year into my Vegas Adventure, I had enough customers to start my own independent hosting company – Surreal LLC.
Understand we are working for you and not for the clubs.
I do well in this business because my company is reputable, I exceed my customer’s expectations, and most importantly, I have the proper licensing. I am licensed by the Nevada Gaming Commission. Trust me when I say, I know how to throw a great party. I live and breathe this business 24/7; it’s my passion! Understand, we are working for you and not the clubs. With my years of event and clubbing experience, and hundreds of connections, your Vegas Vacation will be better than anything you ever imagined.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Foundation is open every night. It has multiple levels and a gorgeous terrace located on the 63rd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The physical 3950 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89119. From the main Valet, walk-in, then make a left - look for the private elevator bank on your right. Typically, there is a long line that stretches into the Casino. It's tough to miss the "Foundation Room" signage in front of the Club. The hours of operation are from 10:30 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. Occasionally they have some special events like a fight or concert afterparty.
Dress Code and Proper Attire

As with any nightclub in Las Vegas, there is a dress code. Business casual or formal attire is preferred and recommended as you are going out to impress. Shorts, sandals, hats, Timberlands, boots, baggy pants, jean shorts and sweatpants are not allowed. They do not allow Air Jordan sneakers either, but stylish gym shoes should fly. Due to the Hip Hop theme, they tend to be a little more relaxed on the attire. Ladies, anything goes except athletic gear and bare feet. Please keep your shoes on; if you can't handle your heels all night, then consider another pair of shoes. Walking around with no shoes is just asking for an issue.

Drink Cost
Drinks vary in price at the bar; prices fall slightly below the industry standard of having most mixed drinks ranging from $10 - $15 per drink, and Beers from $8 - $10 each. Individual bottles start at $400 and up for a 1-Liter. Premium 1L Bottles start at $475 for a 1-Liter bottle of Grey Goose Vodka while other Premium One Liter Bottles, like Hennessy VS, are $450 and Patron is $450 each.
Restaurants in the Area
Before the Club opens, Foundation Room is a restaurant earlier in the evening that offers an elevated dining experience, and Kumi Japanese Restaurant and StripSteak by Michael Mina are also inside the hotel. We love these places by the way. We offer some incredible deals for dinners in the area with all you can eat and drink. Click on the link to check out the diverse selection: We suggest dinner at 8:30 p.m. and the Club at 10:30 p.m.
The Vibe and Resident Artists
Over the years, Foundation Room shifted the brand to be more of a Hip-Hop / Open Format Club. They play a nice mix of popular music and have some cool dancers. The crowd is mixed, and you can count on the dance floor being full. It's not super loud, so you can meet people and hear them talk. Most nights, they have a resident DJ performing, and comparatively speaking to the rest of the Nightclubs on The Las Vegas Strip, this venue is considered the "Deal" club.

Guest List
The guest list lines up to the right if you're facing the front door. The rules change nightly, depending on the artist performing. A good rule of thumb - you have to arrive before 1:00 a.m. Generally, you will find that ladies are free, and guys with an even ratio, are typically free. Since there's no way to tell what it is on every weekend, just shoot us a text, and I'll connect you with our good buddy who is the main promotion manager and top promoter. If you'll be in town on Memorial Day or Labor Day weekend or a big fight weekend, and they have a Big-Name DJ or another significant Hip Hop artist, then you might want to consider tickets to get in quicker. We have great deals on Bottle Service so, we recommend putting your money toward alcohol instead of a cover charge.
Put me on the Guestlist for FREE »How do I get my guests in if they arrive late?
Usually, this is a pretty straightforward process. Your guest(s) can walk up to the ropes and mention the name the table is under and the table number, and they get right in. Some exceptions could be if the Club is at capacity and they just can't physically allow anyone else in via the Fire Marshal's rules and regulations, or if you are way over your limit on the number of people at your table.
If you have some uninvited guests at your table for some reason, the proper way to handle that is get security to have them removed. I strongly suggest that you do not try to remove them yourself as an altercation could occur, and potentially everyone at the table will get kicked out. With over 20 years of experience in this business, please trust us, that is the best way to handle things.
What is Bottle Service?
By definition, Bottle Service means purchasing alcohol by the bottle instead of buy the drink. American Clubs, especially in Las Vegas, are synonymous with "Poppin Bottles." You will be paying a premium for a bottle to reserve a section in the Club, but on a high note, it includes a personal server, VIP entry into the Nightclub, and usually an assortment of standard mixers such as Cranberry/Orange and Pineapple Juice, soda, tonic and soft drinks and garnishes like lemons and limes, and if you order champagne, the staff will supply strawberries.
The bussers are typically fantastic; they always have your ice bucket and mixers on point. A question we sometimes get asked is if you can order individual drinks at a table, and the answer is yes, however, the cocktail servers prefer you stick to bottles or order beers and drinks in quantity. Red Bulls and bottles of water will be extra. Since Foundation Room is a not mainstream club, pricing is a bit more reasonable than some of the newer clubs, and we have popular package deals which I'll talk more about below. On any given night, Prime Tables are usually less than the cost compared to EDM and Hip-Hop Clubs around town.
What's a Minimum Spend?
The minimum spend is the amount you agree to spend in advance on alcohol to get a table or real estate in the nightclub. In Vegas, we call the minimum spend "the min." The better tables will have a higher minimum spend, and on bigger DJ nights, you can expect a higher "min." Please keep in mind that all clubs in Las Vegas operate on a supply and demand system. When we quote pricing, that's just an estimate based on what we think the demand will be for that night. For the most part, with our strong connections, we can get what we promise. The best way to "work with the system" is to make sure you arrive early and meet your host on time.
Table Locations and Options
There is not a bad table at Foundation Room. There is plenty of room to move around the tables, they are all pretty good for large groups, and all the Main Floor Tables have security at the center of the Club, so unwanted guests are not allowed into your area.
Main Lounge Table

Minimum Spend is $400. There are several options inside, including some booths and some tables. On any given night, they are very reasonable and roomy and can accommodate 8 to 10 guests. For not much more than a couple of rounds of drinks, you can get a bottle and a table and be comfortable all night.
Mandalay Patio Tables

Minimum Spend $500. When the weather is beautiful, most of the action will be out on the Patio because who doesn't love to dance with a view. Of course, if it's windy or cold, more people will be inside. Fortunately, Las Vegas is blessed with favorable weather, and most of the time, the Patio is the place to be.
Mandalay Patio Strip View Tables

These tables are a little bit smaller than the booths against the wall, but they have a fantastic view of The Strip. I would recommend four to six people tops at these tables. Let us know if you'd like us to secure one for you.
Sunrise Patio Tables

Similar to The Mandalay Patio Tables, these booths are good for 10 to 12 people. On some nights they keep the Sunrise Patio for Members Only. There's a great view so consider one of these tables for a more intimate setting.
Dining Area and Private Dining Rooms

There are four rooms that are typically used for private dining. Each room has its own theme and is ideal for a larger group looking to have an exclusive dinner. In the pictures below, you will see the 1856 Room, the Gothic Dining Room, the Media Room, and the seated Foundation Dining Room. They serve amazing food at this restaurant. We will be happy to secure a dinner and bottle service reservation for you.
Private Suites for Bottle Service

There are a couple of decked-out private rooms attached to the lounge. Sometimes these are available for rental to the public. They're both themed; one is called the Buddha Suite and the other is the Ganesh suite. As you can see by the pictures, they are super cool so let us know if you'd like to reserve one for your group.
The Shangri La Room

There is another room on the same floor that is perfect for corporate events or weddings. The room is called the Shangri La Room. We talk more about corporate bookings below but keep this in mind for your group.
Members Only Section

The Foundation Room has a membership program. We don't know all the details, but there are some perks of having a room that is not available to the public. Another exclusive are the after parties with artists and private events. If you're interested in membership, just let us know.

How Do I Calculate My Bill?
Let's do the math:
$800 (min) + $67 (8.375% City Tax) + $0 (0% Venue Fee) + $144 (18% to the server) = $1011.00.
Total Bill Calculator for Foundation Room Bottle Service
This does not include any "shake" to the podium for location, express entry, specific table, etc. FYI, a "shake" can also help with a lower minimum spend. When someone refers to the "shake," that means they tip on top of your table minimum and the tip, tax, and venue fee that you will be paying. (The "shake" or handshake to the podium goes into the host's tip pool).
In many instances, there is an opportunity to get lower-than-posted-pricing with what's called a "handshake" in Las Vegas; basically, it is a gratuity to the podium for a lower minimum and a potential upgraded location. Sometimes a podium tip is required for a particular table or even to get a location on certain nights. Now there are some higher tiers when David Guetta, Kygo, or Art of The Wild are in town, and it's a holiday or fight after-party weekend, and there might be some nights where there are even lower tiers than what's listed above.
2023 Foundation Room Bottle Service Menu
We were able to get our hands on the 2023 Bottle Menu, and I had my designer add a little flair to it. As you can see, most of the bottles start at $425 and go up from there.
Bottle Service Deals and Packages
One thing we have no shortage of is package deals that include a great table. If you're looking for straight Bottle Service, then we have you covered.
Examples of our straight Bottle Service packages

*Note all in means all tips and taxes are included
A number of our packages, like our most popular, Views from Foundation Room Package, includes dinner with all you can drink, limos, bottle service, and we can add a gentleman's Club with some drinks. We have too many packages to list so just hit me up with the dates you are coming and the number of people in your group, and I'll send you a quote for all our packages.
Best Tables
Some nights they don't seat all the rooms so not all the tables are always available. As previously mentioned, the venue does not have any undesirable tables. Of course, the Terrace Tables are the best when the weather permits. We've had fantastic nights inside as well, so whatever you end up with, expect a great experience.
Bottle Service Presentations
One of the things Foundation Room is known for, is their Bottle Service presentations. So, if you're a bigger spender and would like to get a presentation, just let us know. Even a reasonably low spend like $1,000 might be enough for a presentation. Usually, some kind of champagne order will be required, or just a minimum amount ordered at once.

Corporate Events
We book quite a few corporate events, especially when conventions are in town. The venue is two stories, but for smaller groups, we can break the Club up into sections. The Patio Section could be the perfect spot for a group of fifty to a hundred. We could also section off the Main Room. The new Live Nation Management operates the Club, so they are likely to be a bit easier to deal with as far as negotiating a reasonable price. We have years of experience in these negotiations, so just let us know the date and approximately how many people and we'll make it happen.
New Year's Eve 2023
If it's just you and your lady or vice versa, Foundation Room is an excellent option for a comfortable table. We have a complete selection of packages for couples that include reasonably priced Bottle Service, and if you're interested, we may even have an opportunity for you to join another group.
Couples
Several tables are perfect for smaller groups. They will typically have a low minimum spend and will still be in the action. There might also be an opportunity to combine a couple with a larger group for the night. Hit us up, and we'll be happy to discuss it.
Bachelor Parties at Foundation Room
Since men book most of the Bottle Service, we book a lot of Bachelor parties at this venue. We have great packages that include limos, dinners, and gentlemen's clubs. So, if you're looking for a package deal or a straight Bottle Service deal, we can make that happen. We always do our best to try to get some females to your table. Doing this has been one of our staples for years.
Promoter and Girl-Guy System
Most large clubs in Las Vegas have what's called a girl-guy promoter system. They usually designate a table at the Nightclub to be the "promoter table." They'll bring the prettiest girls from the guest list to the promoter table and let them drink for free until they get recruited to a Bottle Service Table. The Promoter Table gets sold later in the evening, and the girls are either brought to other tables or mixed in with the crowd. To get some of the pretty ladies from the Promoter Table over to your table, you will need to meet the girl-guy. The girl-guy is a promoter or host that's in charge of placing the females throughout the night. So, if you're struggling to get ladies, a tip to the girl-guy usually does wonders.
We don't usually rely on the girl-guy system; as a team, we try to bring our ladies to your table, but in some cases, the girl-guy system is useful. If you'd like to talk to the girl-guy, just shoot us a text and we'll make it happen. For more on the Vegas girl-guy systems, check out this post.
Bachelor Parties Tips
Hundreds of women, ready to party, roll into Foundation Room nightly after the two Cirque Du Soleil Shows and many other events in the Mandalay Bay. We can also work with the promotion staff to help get ladies directly to your tables if you're interested. Hip Hop is popular these days, and a lot of girls prefer that over the EDM Clubs. Great tables, great music, reasonable prices, and a lot of package options make this one of our go-to Deal Clubs in Vegas.
Bachelorette Parties
Foundation Room is loaded with bachelorette parties when The Cirque Du Soleil show and concerts finish. We have a ton of Bachelorette packages that include bottle service and VIP entry and the tables are roomy and reasonably priced for larger groups.
Wednesday's Industry Party
Foundation Room is one of the few clubs that are open seven days a week in Las Vegas. If you want a great night at a low price, then consider a package deal with us any night of the week
The Final Word
We've been partying at Foundation Room since the mid-2000s and the crazy thing, it hasn't changed one bit, not even the prices. (link top deal clubs) Foundation Room has stood the test of time. For a great place to dance, with memorable views of the City and the Las Vegas Strip, this penthouse nightclub is one of the best options in the City.
