LiqrBox Chicago
LiqrBox, which opened in early 2018, is River North’s newest tri-level club. The 7,500 square foot venue can be found at the former Stone Lotus nightclub site at 873 N. Orleans Street. With a playful environment and plenty of booze, the adult hotspot is a unique space that has been proven far different than other clubs in Chicago. Matt Deichl, who is part of the Hospitality Group that recently opened Bounce Sporting Club, is co-owner of the new club along with partners Jonathan Gillespie and James Brown. Together, the trio developed a whimsical space with an electrifying ambiance and plenty of nostalgia.
When you first walk into LiqrBox, you’ll be met with a vibrant design scheme with tons of references in the art. Local artists David Bozic, Jacob Wayne, and Fidel Rodriguez contributed their work to create a dynamic experience for patrons. In every direction you look you’ll find cool neon lights that brighten up the dimmed space. The art is installed in a way that reacts to black lights which make them illuminate on the walls. While grabbing a drink at the bar, be sure to get a look at the giant disco horse sparkling on a shelf in the back.
The food and beverage service at LiqrBox Chicago is not your usual delivery method. Beverages are available from gas station-inspired drink dispensers and slot machines. Enjoy endless drinks from your table through this self-service method. The club also offers a food, drink, and happy hour menu. Sample tasty bar food choices such as pizza rolls, shrimp corn dogs, mac n’ cheese, veggie burgers, and grilled cheese. Happy hour deals occur from 5 to 7 PM from Tuesday through Sunday. On the drink menu, you’ll find a wide range of alcohol, such as vodka, tequila, whiskey, gin, and cocktails. The venue also specializes in Liqr Infusions.
Like many higher end clubs in Chicago, you can expect to pay a hefty cover charge just to enter the doors at LiqrBox. Depending on the night, guys will have a cover charge of around $30 to $40, while girls can expect to pay $0 to $20. Drinks can also be costly with cocktails costing an average of $10 to $15 each. Wait times can vary depending on the night; with an average nightly wait time of 10 to 40 minutes. The venue is open every night with the exception of Mondays, but the weekends are often the best time to visit.
If you plan on visiting LiqrBox Chicago, be sure to dress accordingly. The nightclub has a strict dress code for non-celebrities that include collared shirts, jeans, and dress shoes for guys. Anything that could be considered sportswear, such as jerseys, track jackets, hats, or sneakers, are off limits. Once in, enjoy the array of music played at the club. LiqrBox generally plays top 40, but also mixes in other genres like hip hop and EDM. The venue also hosts DJs and live entertainers on a regular basis. Be sure to check out their upcoming events and book your table early.
One of the biggest things LiqrBox in Chicago is known for is the dose of nostalgia they offer to adults. When visiting the venue, you’ll have to try their famous adult juice boxes. Their signature “boozy” juice boxes arrive in containers that mimics the look of a giant lighter with a straw poking out of the top. Along with your juice box, enjoy your childhood favorites, including peanut butter and jelly. LiqrBox opens at 5 PM and doesn’t close its doors until 4 or 5 AM, ensuring a full night of fun and entertainment.
