Nightclubs are not the only venues in Las Vegas that enforce a strict dress code. If you’re planning to visit one of numerous pool party destinations, be sure to dress the part. Encore Beach Club, Wet Republic, Marquee Dayclub, Tao Beach, and many other Sin City hot spots require you to dress a certain way if you wish to gain entry into the pool area. While each club has its own unique set of rules and regulations, most require a similar wardrobe. Here’s a closer look at the Las Vegas pool party dress code.
First up is the swimsuit. Choose a swimsuit that is comfortable, fits well, and is trendy – not outdated or worn. You want to feel confident in your attire and therefore shouldn’t show off more skin than what makes you feel comfortable. Speaking off showing off too much skin, you also want to steer clear of see-through swimsuits and alternatives to swimwear, such as pasties. These types of “swimsuits” will likely get you stopped before you even have a chance to get into the pool party. Both one-piece and two-piece bathing suits are acceptable for women. Consider investing in a quality swimsuit with fun patterns, bold colors, or intricate detailing like lace.
If you are heading to an adults-only pool party, feel free to show a bit of skin. In fact, there are some pool party venues in Las Vegas that actually encourage women to go topless. What you want to avoid is wearing anything you would ordinarily wear to a nightclub, such as a bodycon or cocktail dress. When you go to a pool party at one of Las Vegas’ premier dayclubs, a stylish swimsuit is a must. Remember that the staff at the door has the right to turn you away if you don’t follow the proper dress code.
In addition to your swimsuit, you will also need to have some type of cover-up and you must be wearing it when you arrive to the venue. As many pool party locations require you to walk through a casino to enter the pool area, you’ll need to have your swimsuit covered up or risk getting kicked out. Any light and airy sundress or wrap will do. Avoid cover-ups that are too heavy as it can get quite hot under the Las Vegas sun. Also don’t think that you can skip this step as many venues, including the popular MGM Grand Wet Republic, require a cover-up in their dress code.
Women are not the only ones who are required to dress appropriately for pool parties. Men too must wear the right swim attire if they wish to gain entry. Across most of the venues board shorts are the standard for guys. Most venues also frown upon showing up without a shirt. Throw on a clean, form-fitting t-shirt free of sweat stains if you want to get in fast. Avoid pieces of clothing that are not permitted based on the dress code, such as sports jerseys, sneakers, and chains.
Before heading out of the house, be sure to check your feet. Ladies, flip flops might be great beachwear but they won’t work at a Las Vegas pool party. Most venues require women to wear heels with their swimsuit. For guys, sneakers are not permitted. Instead, slip on a pair of sandals or boat shoes. While jewelry is permitted, you’ll want to keep it to a minimum. This means avoid those big hoop earrings or layers of chunky necklaces. Women should also take the time to do their hair and makeup as these venues are considered upscale.
